I can’t do this without YOU, and each tax-deductible gift goes directly towards making new and exciting music a reality. ![]() Gearing up for the release of my debut solo recording, “Home,” which features new pieces for bass and electronics, I am raising funds to cover the costs of making the album. I’ll be playing a solo set of some of the commissions with electronics that appear on my forthcoming album “Home” as an opener for dear friends and collaborators Matt McBane and Lorna Krier, who will be playing new work by Matt for Violin and Piano. This is part of a whole concert of her work, including new work developed during her Rome Prize stay this fall for the talented groups Dither (electric guitar quartet) and Mantra (percussion ensemble). I’m very excited to be playing a piece for solo bass and electronics by Paula Matthusen as part of this year’s Avant Music Festival. This will be a staged (with puppets!) performance of the Saint-Saens classic, “Carnival of the Animals.” I’ll be the elephant! Join us for a live rendition of Steve Reich’s seminal work for multitracked electric guitar, “Electric Counterpoint.” Nothing soothes the soul like 14 electric guitars playing at once! More information This concert is part of John Schaeffer’s New Sounds Live series, which is aired on WNYC. The Winter Garden the World Financial Center Features corey-vocals, Wil Smith-keyboard, James Moore-guitar, Cornelius Dufallo-violin, and myself on electric bass. This is the release show for Corey’s new album, OK It’s Not OK, a beautiful, drily funny, intensely aware collection of songs written about depression and composure. Bonjour will be playing a relaxed show at the New Amsterdam Records HQ/performance space in Red Hook. You will definitely be moving and grooving for this one! Bonjour are very happy to be performing on this year’s Tribeca New Music Festival. Artemis performs Bach and Mozart with choir. ![]()
